The evolution of the PCW model

Below is a communication I have sent to existing students, which is a key part of the evolution of the PCW model. This ensures good-quality professional standards. We have already established The Association for PCW, another key development.
In recent years, the one-year training has been invaluable in developing and refining the PCW model.
The expansion of the one year student format
The monthly meetings have brought together students from across the globe, and it’s been a real inspiration to see people develop their skills at an accelerated rate, both in formal events and in informal and planned practice groups.
It’s clear to me that regular, Continual Professional Development is invaluable, yet it’s rarely incorporated into many training opportunities. This all came about during the era of covid 19 and these regular meetings have really helped to bring together a core group of students interested in genuine learning. This is very different to my experience of other approaches including NLP, where often people are chasing certifications which are then framed as “qualifications”
The Oct 2026 PCW Dev/CPD group
From October 2026, I will be starting a new CPD and PCW Development programme for existing PCW students, rather than members of the public.
This group will meet once a month on a Saturday, from 10 – 2 pm, to discuss the latest developments in PCW. Please be aware, we will be moving at some speed, as this is for students who already have good awareness of the model, not complete beginners.
The focus is on skills development, practice and exploration of the model.
I’m constantly refining and upgrading the model, and when you are in this group, you will have access to a lot of material that has not yet appeared in public training. It’s also an opportunity to share your own discoveries as we learn best from each other.
The group will be for existing students only and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. This is different to days gone by when people would simply sign up for the training; this more advanced work is by application only. This group is central to the model’s further development and continues the excellent work to date by those who have invested time in developing their skills.
For those interested in certifications at Advanced Practitioner and Trainer levels, this is an invaluable opportunity.
The sessions will be live, but applicants will also be able to access the session videos on request.
In addition to the dates below, this training will include free attendance at the monthly Q&A sessions (dates TBA) and some surprise additional training/practice options only for this group.
These additions will include the latest in the model’s development, and this group will beta-test some of the new material. I will also consider the group’s requests for specific niche subjects.
My intention is to include the following in this training
- PCW for business
- Deconstruction of real-life client sessions
- Advanced stance and trancework for live client sessions
- Positioning yourself as a coach and/or therapist: key considerations and advice from my 25 years of running a private practice.
The focus will be to maintain the theme of keeping this as real as possible, reflecting what happens in real life .
I’m mindful that it’s over two decades since I first met Frank Farrelly, who was the catalyst and inspiration for creating Provocative Change Works. Frank’s work would, in my view, have disappeared without my intervention, and I’m keen that PCW is preserved as a professional and credible approach that exists to help the wider world.
