The next phase for PCW, creating practitioners, specialists and provocative trainers
2023 has been quite a year for PCW and we are about to launch the next phase for developing the model “generation 3 PCW. This involves expanding the Provocative Change Works model to the following four main areas
Wellness (therapy and coaching)
Business
Sport
Education
In the last two years I’ve been approached by major figures in all these areas, funding for a one year programe for Leeds university from The Wellcome Trust, working with a number of international atheletes, coaching a number of very well known artists in the music industry and now working with the HR division of a major international business consultancy.
This means my own personal time is more stretched and I need to build “the PCW intrastructure” so we can bring the model to a wider audience and crucially show what can be achieved. Its a long way from the typical personal development/NLP arena where people mostly attend a few trainings to get a certificate which they then frame as ‘a qualification!” I fully appreciate that this will mean less certifications, but they will mean something as people have to demonstate an understanding of the model and the ability to use it in real life.
All these four areas demand evidence for results and that means maintaining a very high quality of training and developing an R and D group that can be called in as specialists as demand expands. Again this is not like the world of NLP which is essentially a franchise model for selling courses and few individuals develop their own material. Nothing wromg with that, but it doesn’t encourage original thinking and there’s little or no system of evaluation. In PCW, the practitioner, advanced practitioner, specialist and trainer certifications are all granted according to a demonstration of skills and understanding. There’s no automatic certification just because somebody attended a training and/or watched footage!
Live and Online training
The emphasis post covid has moved greatly to working online in group and 1 – 1 sessions. I’ve realised that this makes for great CPD and again its not for everybody. Some people are happy for basic introductions to the model and there’s a place for that. However real skills development requires a greater level of time investment for myself and all those involved.
I’ll still run live group trainings, but I’m now looking at raising the bar on precision and you can be sure that generation 3 PCW will be quite a ride and in much more depth than we have explored to date!
